Two big victories for Tall lab members were celebrated tonight: Dr. Alex Vizurraga PhD has an approved thesis and Tingzhen Shen advanced to candidacy. Alex will be off to a big time biotech job in SF and Tingzhen is happy to focus on his adhesion GPCR deorphanization progress.

The lab was outstanding today with clear and thoughtful presentations from summer undergrad students Lauren Conrad and Riya Gandhi (front and center left). Thankful for having these talented people in the lab and looking forward to watching them become future scientist leaders.

Our lab is very happy to announce its newest PhD graduate, Tyler Bernadyn, who will be off to a career as a commissioned Captain officer in the US Army. Tyler was very successful publishing papers that cleared up controversies in our field (twice, nice).
