The smile Congressman Rich McCormick, MBA MD gives as people are asking questions shows that he doesn’t take this seriously. He was there to gaslight, spout off talking points, and check a box at this Georgia town hall. We need serious legislators with backbones. Even against their own party.

I’m excited to share that the Enrollment Committee passed! They will look at changes WESD can make to stabilize enrollment. My goal as President is to increase academics & bring innovation to the district. With this vote, we are taking another step forward in these two goals.

The key for being a school board member is knowing Robert’s Rules of Order so well that you can handle any situation. Don’t like an item? Amend the agenda. Not ready to vote? Table the item. Want discussion to stop? Call the question. There’s a tools in there for everything!

At the Capital standing up for public schools and for all our kids! 90% of Arizona kids attend a public school in their community. Our neighborhood public schools are the heart of our communities!

It’s been an exciting week in WESD! 🍎 I was honored to welcome back Principals & Assistant Principals, teachers at the Summit, & new teachers to the district. 📚 Superintendent Dr. Hightower has hit the ground running and it’s so exciting to see her leadership in action.

As a board member, this chaos was such a distraction, that our district couldn’t fully focus on the start of school. That doesn’t help us be prepared, that doesn’t help us improve proficiency, that doesn’t help us be generally effective. But that was the point for them.
