When my kids whisper to one another, 9/10 it is bad…. The same is probably true of adults. If I am nervous someone is going to overhear me, why am I saying it? On the contrary, wisdom is always shouting aloud in Scripture.

From the essay, “God Tells the Man Who Cares,” by A.W. Tower: “The Bible was written in tears and to tears it will yield its best treasures. God has nothing to say to the frivolous man.” A worthy prayer for the new year: “Less frivolity, more of Christ.”

“The Christmas message is that there is hope for a ruined humanity—hope of pardon, hope of peace with God, hope of glory—because at the Father’s will Jesus Christ became poor, and was born in a stable so that thirty years later He might hang on a cross.” - J.I. Packer

I am sure this will not be one of my most successful posts. Posts like this rarely are. I don't care. This will be one of the most important I ever posted. Listen to Alistair Begg - How will you get to heaven?

“Two things I ask of you; deny them not to me before I die: Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me.” Proverbs 30:7-9 ESV A tough prayer to pray but full of wisdom.
