It’s difficult to watch Republican leaders being admitted to the hospital out of “an abundance of caution,” when everyday Americans were left to figure out on our own what constitutes “having trouble breathing.”

I didn’t think this administration’s handling of COVID-19 could get any more reckless, but their refusal to properly quarantine and isolate after exposure and infection will set us back even further. Trump supporters will do as he does, just as they have regarding masks.

This is in violation of the CDC guidelines, which state that anyone who has been exposed should quarantine for 14 days, even if they receive a negative test result. It’s important that we avoid normalizing this behavior.

Trump backed out of the virtual debate because his team knew it would prevent him from screaming over Biden, so naturally, NBC gives Trump the clearance to scream over him in competing time slots. nytimes.com/2020/10/14/us/…

Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is making history on so many fronts: the first woman, the first black woman, the first Asian American, the first HBCU graduate, the first AKA and first member of the Divine Nine to be the VP-elect. She's made history again and again and again.

The moment a city that has suffered so much learned that the president would be held accountable. From collective strength to collective hope.

While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last—because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities.

I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear the president-elect say this. We have a long fight ahead of us—but it starts with good leadership.

President Trump has left the White House for the last time. Note: He began his political career peddling the racist conspiracy theory that the first black president wasn’t born in the US. He ends his term with the first black and South Asian woman VP coming into the WH. Poetic.
