In Senate, Admin refusing to mandate academic amnesty, stating tuition refunds aren’t possible, cutting off every voice that is critical, refusing to let PCIs speak, trying to block students from participating #FairDealAtMUN

Rachel W Jekanowski @BarryStepMUN Dr. Timmons not allowing tuition refunds to be passed in Senate, forcing it to Board of Regents, then stating that it will almost definitely not pass.

@BarryStepMUN Rachel W Jekanowski She stated that the amount that they would give in tuition refunds would exceed, and I quote, the “savings” gained by the university by going on strike.

Dr. Timmons has referred to MUNFA’s unpaid salaries during the strike as “savings” for the university, & that it would equal to less than an expected 4mill from dropped courses. Clearly, the administration sees MUNFA salaries as profit to weigh out their unbalanced spending.

The strike, and the conditions that led to it, have been enormously disruptive for all involved — MUNFA members, students, and other workers on campus. This is an incredibly disrespectful way for Dr. Timmons to refer to this situation.
