5th Grade Chorus participated in the “Southern Sings” Choral Feeder System Festival. We traveled to Southern High School and met with fellow singers from neighboring Elementary schools, the middle and the high school. It truly was a fun-filled day of singing! 🎶 Shady Side ES

3rd grade students composed a short Pentatonic melody and then performed it on either the piano, keyboard, or xylophone. 🎶 🎹 Shady Side ES

2nd Grade students played a fun singing game with the song, “Dairy Key.” Next, they sang the melody with a Tonal Ostinato before transferring it to the Boomwhackers with a partner! 🔑 🎶 Shady Side ES

1st Grade Students watched livestreams from the National Aquarium, listened to “Aquarium” from “Carnival of the Animals,” then created a real life aquarium to reflect the mood and timbre of the music. 🐠 🎶 Shady Side ES
