Liberty junior Daniel Viveros is the favorite to win the boys shot put, which begins at 8:30 p.m. tonight. He is also in medal contention in the boys discus. Teammate and freshman, Faith Bender is seed No. 3 in discus and a medal contender in the shot.

That makes six Kern County athletes that earned medals at the CIF State track and field championships, led by a title for Liberty junior Daniel Viveros in the boys shot put. Aaliyah, Faith Bender, Seth Krauss, Moises Medrano and asia. all earn medals.
