Yesterday members of BGC Field Experiments and other working groups Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry participated in a course for personal protection equipment against falling from heights. The course was fun and the participants enjoyed the inside and outside parts of the course. #SafetyFirst!
Part two of the installation for the PhD project of @KS95885920 at #Wetzstein research site Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry. Rain and fog could not stop us. We also exchanged a broken LI840 of the profile system and fixed some issues with the fast CO2, CH4, H2O Picarro analyzer for #eddy covariance.
Part three of installation at #Wetzstein site of Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry completed! Again, Big thanks to BGC Field Experiments for their tireless efforts getting the electronic all set up! Now logging tree water fluxes at 10 trees with #sapflow and #dendrometer for the entire year. 🌲🙃
Field day (2/28): Spruce harvest never is routine, especially under murkiest possible atmosphere ☺️🪚 Thanks to Johanna who withstands any adverse field situation with me as B.Sc. student assistant & intern Jena Earth Observation School! Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry's #Wetzstein
Field day (4/28): First sample collection with splendid weather @ #Leinefelde eddy tower managed by Uni Göttingen! I like this work place
Installation finished of 2 GPS devices at #Leinefelde with Bioclimatology Göttingen and BGC Field Experiments Now measuring high temporal resolution water dynamics in beech trees!
Today Judith, Christian and Tarek did the maiden voyage of the MS-Minerva Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry a prototype of a floating chamber to measure CH4 and CO2 fluxes from rivers for the Q-Arctic project. The chamber floated great and we know what has to be improved. Next cruise coming soon.🏞🛶
Catching hydraulic saturation in beech right after strongest rainfall event in 2023. #Leinefelde Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry Bioclimatology Göttingen
Thanks to all the attendees of the FLUXNET_Coop Annual meeting in Brno! So much great science and energy for flux-related research 🙏 #FLUXNET AmeriFlux ICOS RI NEON FLUXNET Early Career Network ICOS Carbon Portal U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program NACP Carbon
