News Flash! It was the community that saved KNKX and that same community expects management to make sure staff is properly compensated for their work.

What are you doing KNKX Public Radio? Bargain in good faith with KNKXunion! With the cost of living crisis and the erosion of democracy, it's getting tougher to be a journalist who tries to hold the powerful accountable. The very least you can do is negotiate decent wages and benefits.

Amid high inflation, folks #SoundStoriesSoundWages are picketing tomorrow to demand higher pay. We here KNKXunion stand with our friends ✊✊✊KUOW Public Radio must do better.

We have postponed today's #WeMakeKUOW picket for fair pay due to the unhealthy smoke that has engulfed the Seattle area. BLEAH!! We will instead shout our need for livable wages at the top of our lungs by picketing IN CLEAN AIR on Monday, Oct. 24. YEAH!! Stay tuned!

.KUOW Public Radio journalists, hosts, producers and announcers spent our lunch break picketing outside the station, because management and University of Washington are still refusing to pay us a living wage for our work. Seattle needs local news, but those of us making that news need fair pay! #WeMakeKUOW

Back at the bargaining table with my KUOW colleagues today! Fun fact: the cost of living in Seattle has gone up almost 20% since our last contract was signed. Minimum salaries for positions in our newsroom have gone up ... 0%.
