Lots of fun today marking screen awareness week with lots of different learning. P1-5 had karate with Justine and science which looked at melting and the the heat of our hands - we loved watching the chocolate melt and see our hands on the thermal paper SSERC

A busy day all round. With our upper primary children at the Maidens Tournament, the rest of the school did some cooking as part of P1/2s new Talk for Writing unit The Magic Porridge Pot! We enjoyed eating our porridge, and are celebrating our 2nd place finish for the football today

Our football team had a wonderful time at the recent Maybole Tournaments, hosted by Carrick Academy. We played some fantastic opponents. Well done especially to our 3 players of the match - Logan, Rory and Rufus - and Rory for winning the spirit of the tournament award

Our P4 had a lovely day, with peers from Straiton Primary School & EYC at the Dumfries House farming event this week

For our PE, P1-7 linked fitness with using Micro:bit Educational Foundation by using them as dice. After picking 6 fitness activities, they used the Microbit dice to randomly select an activity to do! Lots of collaboration and focus during this!! P1-2 explored their meta skill of curiosity today. We exploring what it means to be curious we made a list of things we were curious if you could do with a Bluebot and tried if you could. We finished with a Bluebot race! How many forwards to reach the red line! SAC Digital Learning

A spotlight on our EYC: Our EYC children and their friends from the EYC at Straiton Primary School & EYC enjoyed their end of year trip to Dumfries House where they enjoyed exploring and playing in the sunshine ☀️

A spotlight on our EYC: we have had a focus on making reading graphs by voting on snack and sharing likes and dislikes. At lunch today, we spoke about who likes fish, chips and beans and what our favourite part was! “Most people like beans, I like beans!” Lots of smiles today😊

A spotlight on our pupils: today at assembly we shared lots of achievements across our EYC-P7. We are so proud of our pupils for having so many out of school achievements and having success in class too! Well done to everyone!

P1-6 enjoyed taking part in maths through stories today. After listening to ‘The Cafe At The Edge Of The Woods’, the children measured and made their own recipes. We had lots of creativity on show - making cereal, Dubai chocolate, soup, cake and making potions #metaskills
