Great to see over 70 pupils & families at Kirkby Gallery & Prescot Museum & Knowsley Libraries in #Kirkby last week, celebrating the 'Women in Space' homework project with the children's work on display. This project has been completed by our Steve Dixon of schools. Well done to everyone involved.

An absolutely inspirational morning learning from incredible professionals in the Steve Dixon reflecting on how they use CLPE Power of Reading to improve outcomes for children. At the heart of this are schools that build their teachers as professionals inspiring children. 1/4

Next Hope Primary School shared what a reading culture looks, sounds & feels like in a video that so clearly demonstrated this. Grammar is expertly planned to be contextualised within the teaching by teachers who know their texts and curriculum. Creative approaches feed writing. 3/4

The start of a great Kirkby Collaborative day begins at Aintree Racecourse and our Power of Reading finale with CLPE and thirty delegates

Finally Kirkby High School showed how their Power of Reading journey over the last 5 years is being developed in the Y7, 8 & 9 intervention groups, noting impact on ‘Those children that come alive in these sessions where they don’t elsewhere.’ Purposeful intervention at its best. 4/4
