Significant week for CEU Democracy Institute Review of Democracy #RuleofLaw section (and the world...). Written interview with 🇵🇱's former EU Court of Justice judge Professor Marek Safjan published today. Led by my colleague Konstantin Kipp and available to read below. 👇👨⚖️👩⚖️ lnkd.in/e8x7fkCb
🎙️ In our new podcast, tomginsburg reflects on the potentially authoritarian nature of international law in its function of enabling relations between states. 🎧 Listen to it now: 👉 tinyurl.com/ye2wjdt4
I had the opportunity to ask some questions to Christoph Flügge, former judge at the ICTY, about recent developments in international criminal law. In this discussion, he criticizes Friedrich Merz—most likely Germany’s next chancellor—for his plan to ignore the Int'l Criminal Court
We also discussed whether transnational repression could become a field of Authoritarian International Law, as set out by tomginsburg. Many thanks to Caroline von Gall for answering my questions!
