Linear roadmaps are misleading without a crystal ball for seeing the future. A roadmap that recognizes the existence of risk as time goes on is more honest. But an effective PM needs to anticipate possible branches, too - and create clear criteria for following each path.

B2B and B2C Product Management are very different. I worked for 5 years as a Product Manager in B2B and for 9 months (so far) in Consumer. While this will likely not be an exhaustive list, here are the 8 biggest differences I've seen. πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡

This is one of the best synthesis of the challenges of communicating design value and process. When done right, the output appears simple and obvious. There is a lot of work that goes into that.

Last call to vote on this before I submit a PR to fix this. What do we rename Simple Schema for Observability to? github.com/opensearch-pro…

I often find that this is a common problem amongst designers. We’ve been taught about the power of storytelling, so when presenting to executives we go into detail about all the little steps we made to get to the final outcome, often missing the essence of the problem we solved.

Asking our users to design solutions - "what features would you like us to build?" - is an awful idea. Asking their managers - "what features should we build for your teams?" - is an even worse idea.
