Dear AT&T Houston: 1) Please fix your outage. 2) Please consider a message other than "SOS" when you have an outage. I may or may not have briefly thought the world was ending when I saw that. Thanks.

This weekend will be cloudy with a few spotty showers or sprinkles (I have 30% coverage today, higher along the coast), but the big story is widespread rain on Monday. We have declared Monday an ABC13 Weather Alert Day: abc13.com/weather

What a start to 2024! We've got some scattered showers, dense fog, and lingering firework smoke across the Houston-area. All of these issues will be cleared out by a cold front by the mid-morning, leaving us with a dry and mostly cloudy afternoon: abc13.com/weather

Stay weather aware today! Some patchy freezing rain is already ongoing across southeast Texas, and we'll see more through the morning and afternoon. Please be extremely cautious on the roads, especially on bridges and overpasses, which will be the first spots to ice over.
