Most aren’t afraid of failing, they’re afraid of what people will think of them if they fail. So they settle for safe, for comfortable, for easy, for average. You were made for more than average. Instead of being held back by your fears, be fueled by your belief.

Building a team culture starts with creating practice environments where players have fun while feeling safe enough to explore & make mistakes. That kind of culture becomes successful when their learning & development come first & are structured to meet the needs of every player!

Don’t be the player who is too cool to go hard. Whether in a workout or a game, 100% is the bare minimum. Cool has no place in the game. Cool won’t impress anyone, won’t get you more playing time, won’t ever get you better. Cool will keep you on the bench. Cool will get you beat!

Don’t say you don’t have time for extra practice, workouts, shooting, lifting, etc. when you’re spending hours a day on social media. Put the phone down & go prepare! You’ll be surprised at how much more you can accomplish by spending some of that time getting better. Priorities!

Failure is part of the process. Frustration is part of the process. Setbacks are part of the process. Get up. Learn. Keep going. Remember why you started. Keep showing up.

PLAYERS: When you become a "whatever the team needs" type player then you become a great teammate. This also makes your team's culture stronger. Great teams have great teammates.

I have many athletes I work with who want to play college ball, more specifically for top 25 programs. My question to them is always “is your effort & intent what a top 25 athlete at that program is doing?” Does each rep matter to you? Does the work you are doing have purpose

Would you rather be completely exhausted from consistently working hard toward your dreams or well rested from doing absolutely nothing? Success is never easy. Nobody is ever going to give it to you. You have to work at it every day & that’s a choice only you can & need to make!

Stop making weak excuses! Working Hard: Your Choice Skipping Workouts: Your Choice Eating Bad: Your Choice Good Grades: Your Choice Arriving on Time: Your Choice Getting Better: Your Choice Making the right choice is always up to you. Don’t use your bad choices as an excuse!

• BAD players don’t take anything seriously • AVERAGE players only take games seriously • GOOD players take practice & games seriously • GREAT players take take sleep, academics, warmups, weight room, film, conditioning, practice + games seriously #HowToBeGreat

Players: If you want to lead your team you will have to hold some of your best friends accountable. That isn’t always easy. The best leaders lead by example and look after their teammates on the court, academically, socially, in the weight room, and in the community. Leading
