Amidst the chaos of the past two days, I was so very saddened to hear about the passing of the former Elgin Township Democrats Chair Carl Strathmann.

My sincere condolences go out to Cherryl, his family, friends, and loved ones. Carl was a champion for helping elect Democrats across Elgin Township for over a decade. He will be missed.

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up to Broadview yesterday afternoon to demand answers and accountability from DHS. Together, we amplified our voices, and I am so grateful that my friend and the others who were detained have been released.

Now, the fight continues for transparency and justice.
