As you’re probably aware, COVID is surging right now. It never went away. It’s why many people are ill. It’s why we have escalating sickness and disability with millions suffering from long COVID in the U.K. .The Green Party have policies to reduce the harms COVID is doing.

Why do schools need to tackle poor VENTILATION in classrooms? Because nationwide monitoring of UK classrooms shows that ventilation drops to appallingly low levels when outdoor temperatures drop & windows are closed. Poor ventilation means airborne viruses spread like wildfire.

Totally normal. Schools are now not accepting staff calling in sick, they are calling back and informing staff that they aren’t sick and need to go in 🫠 Pretending we aren’t in a massive wave of C0vid is not a foolproof plan! As the cases rise again in 2025 I remember when this happened. We must get filtration into schools to prevent further children and young people getting Long Covid.

🧠DEMENTIA PREVENTION—Almost everyone needs to go out now and get the shingles vaccine ASAP. Don’t wait until age 50 for standard eligibility—ask your doctor for singles vax. MULTIPLE large studies worldwide now show that shingles vaccine strongly prevents dementia onset. Do it.

“We may be witnessing the emergence of a population-level acquired immune deficiency — not sexually transmitted, but airborne.” That line isn’t from a tweet. It’s from a peer-reviewed paper in AJPM Focus (2025). A short thread 🧵 on why this framing matters 👇

Spoken to Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan team & filtration has began to be installed in schools. Education is key as some schools are worried about electricity bills. Filtration should’ve been rolled out in 2020 as it was in the EU. Having long C-19 will cost us more & cuts absenteeism for staff

This fascinating new paper compares the similarities between COVID & HIV/AIDS. Whilst the underlying mechanisms are different, they do share certain outcomes, eg. immune dysfunction, viral persistence & neurological disorders. Both are also marked by stigma & delayed response.

Amazing! We need better awareness that HEPA tech can help solve the attendance crisis & (more importantly!) protect wellbeing. Kids shouldn’t have to run the gauntlet of infection & exposure at school. It’s a by product of inaction not a rite of passage Department for Education National Education Union

Anne Greensmith 💙 UK Health Security Agency It seems it’s purely down to perceived “cost-effectiveness” - and the way they’ve spun the numbers makes it appear that it wouldn’t be cost-effective to vaccinate even clinically vulnerable people. Sadly, their methodology is heavily flawed, as outlined in my thread below ⬇️
