Our first reading is shocking “If the righteous turns away from his righteousness… he shall die.” (Ez.18:21) Righteousness is not a retirement plan. We tend to believe that past goodness secures permanent spiritual credit. Nobody claps for you for the same thing twice!!!

Here is the irony, for some this may be the last Lent. Hence, the holy urgency in our first reading, it says "This day" not tomorrow. (Deu.26:16) Urgency purifies priorities. Like a student who reads for an imminent exam, let this Lent prepare us for our eternal test!!!

Daniel declares “To you, O Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame” (Dan.9:4-10) One of the most dangerous spiritual conditions is the loss of shame. Shame in its holy form, is the soul’s alarm system. May our shame always be the doorway — not the prison — of grace.

Jesus accuses the Pharisees of addiction to vissibility, “They do all their deeds to be seen by others…” (Mat.23:1-12) Prayer can become performance. Fasting can become advertisement. Charity can become branding. When you stop trying to be seen, God sees you more clearly.

After the request of the Zebedee brothers, the other disciples were indignant not because the request is wrong, but because they were not the ones who asked first. (Mat.20:28) Sometimes we do not hate injustice. We hate not being involved in the advantage.

The rich man could not see Lazarus at his gate, but the disciples noticed a Leper at the beutiful gate, faraway from their homes. (Lk.16:31) Because the rich man did not open the gate of his house, the gate of heaven did not open to him.

Love without wisdom creates division. Jacob’s favoritism unintentionally planted seeds of resentment among Joseph and his brothers. (Gen.37:3-4) Sometimes the conflicts around us are not born from hatred but from imbalanced affection, partiality, or poor judgment.

Today's parable has no ending. It ends without telling us whether the elder son entered the celebration. Why? Because the ending depends on the listener.(Lk.15:11) Every person hearing the story must decide: if i will enter the feast of mercy or remain outside counting my merits?

Two counsels from two of Naaman's servants, healed him. (2kgs 5:1-15) The first counsel showed him where to go. The second counsel helped him humble himself enough to obey. We all have the tendency to listen upward but Naaman was healed the day he learned to listen downward.

The tragedy of the servant in the parable was this: He was already free but he did not know how to live like a free man.(Mat.18:21) Lent invites us not only to receive mercy, but also to create distance from the walls of prison we have been released, else we are sentensed again.

Our elders say "The goat complains about the rope, but the rope is what keeps it from the lion.” Jesus says he came not to abolish but to fulfill the Law. (Mat.5:17) Human beings tend to reduce laws to suit themselves, but Christ raises life to meet the law.

The possessed man could not speak until he was freed. (Lk.11:14) Spiritually, many people today are also mute: mute in correcting injustice, mute in professing faith publicly. Make us bold, Lord. Let us declare your power in the assembly of the just.

Jesus told the Scribe, he was "close to the kingdim of God" (Mk.12:28) However, the Gospel does not tell us that he followed Jesus. Many people are close to conversion but postpone it. Being near the Kingdom is not enough—God invites us to enter it by commitment not just proximity

“The child who refuses to ask will eat the empty plate". Prayer,at its heart, is a request.Only God needs nothing. All of us are needy and poor before Him.The tax collector understood this truth.(Lk.18:9)The moment we stop asking,we begin to stand in the temple like the Pharisee.

Jesus is in the Cana again, just as water was turned into wine on the way. Today, the son of the Royal official was healed too on the way. (Jn.4:43-54) God often answers us while we are still walking in uncertainty. See the sequence; Believe → Walk → Discover the miracle!!!

The Disciples left everything & followed Jesus—not when they were empty, but when they were full. (Lk5:1-11) True detachment is not proven in scarcity but in abundance. St.Patrick whose feast we celebrate, became a misionary after he regained his freedom not when he was a slave.

Jesus says, “The Son can do nothing of his own accord but only what he sees the Father doing.” (Jn.5:17-30) This is profound. Jesus is not acting independently—He is living in total communion. Holiness is not about walking in isolation; it is about aligning deeper.

The Solemnity of St. Joseph. We remember a man described as just, yet his justice is surprising. He plans to divorce Mary quietly—not to expose, not to shame, not to destroy. (Mat.1:18) True righteousness does not humiliate and is not harsh; it is merciful.

The people said: “We know where He comes from.” But Jesus responds, that they do not truly know the One who sent Him. (Jn. 7:1-2) There is a difference between knowing facts and knowing the Truth. You can have correct information and still miss the ultimate Truth!!!.

Nicodemus speaks up cautiously: “Does our law judge a man without first hearing him?”(Jn.7.40-53) Not all faith is loud—but even quiet faith must eventually speak. He does not fully defend Jesus yet, but he opens a door. Where is God asking you to move from silence to courage?
