Sad news: I was informed that Sam Kaplan just passed away, unexpectedly and peacefully. He was a wonderful colleague: full of fun and ideas. He spent a sabbatical with us in the 80s and recruited me as an Editor for JBact, which started my editorial career. He will be missed.
