How do you ‘find the sun’ with a solar telescope or when imaging the Sun. 1) a computerized telescope mount will get you close to the object 2) we also use various types of ‘solar finders, the images and video show one type I use. #Sun #astrophotography #SeestarS50

Replaced the batteries in the UPS today, not difficult at all, but those things are in there tight! 2x 12v-9ah sealed lead acid batteries and about 20 mins is all it took. #diy #ups #nerdalert

I gave Gemini one of my rainy night images and had it render it as an oil painting in the style of Van Gogh. It kept the main image components and composition but shifted the color palette and artistic additions using VG-like techniques. #ai #vangogh #morganhill

Some experimentation with Gemini, image 1 source. The 2nd image: ‘render the source image in the style of Studio Ghibli’ The 3rd,: ‘render the source image in a WW2 dogfight using the American palette and identifiers’ With no complex prompts. #AI

Dali style: Used Gemini on an original image to transform it to a Dali-esque painting. I’m sure you can tell which is which. 😉 #sandiego #DiaDeMuertos #AI

Using Gemini to transform images I’ve taken into ‘oil paintings’ that take on the style of famous artists. iIn this version the subject is the original (left) nightscape photo rendered in the style of Matisse. #AIart #canonR8

Assembled a watch today that I purchased from the ‘DIY Watch Club’, starts with a lot of parts (movement was complete without a face or hands). Hardest part was the hands. Lots of fun and a test of patience! #DIY #watch #diywatchclub

Surprise pick tonight, Netflix Jingle Bell Heist. Overall, solid movie with a nice unexpected twist at the end. Highly recommended 9/10. #jinglebellheist

This was a fun project. Apparently the Nissan engineers thought that when changing the headlight bulbs, you need to dissect the wheel well to get to the rear of the assembly. It’s a pretty intricate setup with many sealing parts to keep the electronics dry. Nissan #370z

Tonight’s image of the ‘Horsehead Nebula’, only 50 minutes of exposure time, taken in suburban light pollution (Bortle ~6.5). #space #Astronomy #Astrophotography

Tonight’s imaging session with a smaller telescope that has a larger field of view (fov) offers us the ability to capture both the Flame and Horsehead nebulas. These nebulas are both in the Orion constellation. #space #astronomy #astrophotography
