Read how today’s Supreme Court hearing on the birthright citizenship has unseen implications. The U.S. risks losing its edge in demographic strength and assimilation relative to other world powers, explained by Gil Guerra thedispatch.com/article/birthr…

Practical difficulties surrounding enforcement of an ill-conceived EO isn't the best defense of birthright citizenship, but it's a good line of questioning by Justice Kavanaugh.

This SEVP revocation will also affect recent Harvard graduates working on OPT or STEM OPT. Niskanen Center data obtained from FOIA requests showed that as of 2024, Harvard was the school of record for 1856 OPT participants and 576 STEM OPT who had end dates in or after May 2025.

With Harvard's graduation next week, there will also be a fresh batch of graduates who would normally be eligible for legal work authorization through OPT. ICE is clear that OPT authorization is not transferrable, so if they've accepted jobs, they may have to renege on offers.

Top OPT and STEM OPT employers like Amazon, Google, Intel, Deloitte, and Facebook are most likely to be affected by this move as Harvard's recent international graduates rapidly lose their underlying OPT work authorization

We estimate about 2,000+ recent grads + those graduating next week will now lose their legal work status virtually overnight because of this decision. The administration shouldn't pull the rug out from under high-skilled workers and their employers — especially without warning.

🚨 Judge Burroughs has temporarily blocked DHS from revoking Harvard’s ability to host international students—for now. But the uncertainty itself is disruptive. Students are canceling travel, losing internships, and fearing deportation.

Judge Burroughs has granted the preliminary injunction, allowing Harvard to continue enrolling international students. But the uncertainty has been and will continue to be disruptive. Students are canceling travel, losing internships, and fearing deportation.

Pleased to share my latest research in Foreign Policy on what the impact of revoking visas for Chinese students could be: foreignpolicy.com/2025/06/04/chi…

Restricting students from China & Hong Kong could cost the U.S. economy billions. In 2023–24 alone, they likely contributed ~$11B & supported 95,000 jobs. But the bigger loss? Talent.

What makes this even worse, is that the admin is penalizing Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, & Venezuelans for complying with our immigration laws, finding U.S.-based sponsors, & buying their own plane tickets to come to the U.S. legally. Dems should keep calling out this hypocrisy
