After 5 seasons, my time with the Dbacks has come to a close. The experience I’ve gained in said time was invaluable. Had the pleasure of working with a lot of tremendous players and I’m taking away some lifelong memories. Truly looking forward to what comes next

These comparisons are so tired. These guys hit against literal grocery baggers that threw 84. To not admit hitting is the most difficult it’s ever been is literally wrong.

The swing is comprised of bends, tilts, rotations and extensions. The torso isn’t accounted for nearly enough when observing swings. This is a cool visual that shows how swaying the rib cage can pull you into right or left bend.

Excellent insight here. Orgs love to talk about swing decisions and plate discipline. The reality is, when you can move something fast in a short amount of time, that ALLOWS for better swing decisions. The best hitters have more time because they’re quicker

One of the smartest baseball minds I’ve ever been around and a main reason why I got my 1st professional coaching opportunity. Congratulations Donnie. Earned it 👊🏼

Baller. Eyes on this kid. Put size on over the past year. Super athlete. Consistently barrels balls all over the field. + Runner

The swingaway was a staple in the garage lab. Circa 2013. I built this one off season because I didn’t want to be bothered when working on movement

Very talented Sophomore playing down in Fort Myers this weekend. Macen Collura, Faith Lutheran HS ‘26. Easy juice sitting 92+ EV tonight with a Baum bat. Have seen a lot of good HS kids over the years. This is one of the most impressive

I love to see visuals like this. At no point in either arc is the knob and barrel moving forward at the same rate. I see a lot of drills currently that promote dragging the handle forward in an effort to maintain direction through middle. Not ideal

Great point right here. Attempting to imitate the barrels reaction to a prior position isn’t wise. The barrel will pitch back naturally if it’s set up to do so. Manufacturing this motion via rotating the upper arms or forearms (independently) is miss leading
