Yeah, sometimes we experience hard moments or stressful experiences but lack someone to lean on or support us, but writing it out itself is helpful. I'm glad this space came up to encourage people to share those suppressed feelings&emotions and get supported ❤️

Later today, I will join colleagues to discuss mental health in schools and how we can create safe spaces to support students experiencing mental health issues. Considering the trend of MH issues in students, this discussion came at the right time. x.com/i/spaces/1DXGy…

Our culture has long made us believe that crying is a sign of weakness, especially for men. But I say this today, crying is healing. If you feel you have suppressed emotions, cry and let it out. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

It tears my heart to say that my father, Ngugi Wa Thiong'o passed away earlier today. I am me because of him in so many ways, as his child, scholar and writer. I love him - I am not sure what tomorrow will bring without him here. I think that is all I have to say for now.
