We all know we live in a polarized world, but what's next? We want to understand how individuals and communities are working to overcome deep divides. If you're working on these issues, check out our small grants program.

All this happened in the last 3 months for Chinese decarbonization policy. Can't think of the last time I saw so many major documents released in such a short period time...feels like 2024 is turning out to be a major year for China's energy policy. Quick summary thread: 🧵

Huge thanks to John Kerry for the kind and inspiring video message he sent to our (Central Asian Policy Studies) conference on climate change education in Central Asia! So grateful to Peter Frankopan for making this happen!

Washington and Beijing are strategic narcissists. Often, they refract rule making through the prism of their parochial strategic competition while third countries also set standards and write rules. My latest in Forbes Markets on fragmentation in Asia. forbes.com/sites/evanfeig…

какой же крутой поступок 💔 Журналисты сегодня во время пресс-конференции задавали свои вопросы от имени журналистки Жании Уранкаевой, которой закрыли доступ в дом правительства.

Central Asia Barometer, long a valuable resource to researchers such as myself, says it is suspending operations due to threats. I don’t know anything further about what’s going on but a very worrying development. ca-barometer.org/en/news/cab-st…

Kyrgyzstan is losing its best assets - vibrant, independent and highly professional NGOs that helped the country overcome crises and made it look good internationally. I hope the suspension of activities by Central Asia Barometer will be temporary. It single-handedly filled such a gap.
