We’ve been working with OpenAI over the last few weeks on GPT-5 in Amp. We’re still evaluating where and how to use GPT-5 (after all, it took 6 months to figure out 3.5 Sonnet’s true capabilities). Join us and try GPT-5 in Amp now:

New model should focus more on imitating human workflows. I can read more books and I’ll know more. I can have all the knowledge in the world, but does that make me good at my job? Give me the tools to do my work, and I can take action at the right time with the right

dax opencode is cool, and I use it to try out various models sometimes. I like that it's configurable! But you gotta realize there's a difference between a product like Amp supporting a major new model capability in a first-class way and actually putting in the hard work to make it

A couple security-oriented ships for Amp today. You can allow or block MCP servers with string matches, regexes, or glob patterns. Admins can override individual settings with a special file on disk—useful for ensuring security and consistency when it comes to MCP and tools.

What’s your favorite IDE if you do 70% of your coding with Amp — Research Preview CLI (or another coding agent) in the terminal? Ideally to visualize changes as they happen.

What’s a difficult problem you’ve seen in an enterprise setting that required multiple engineers, weeks of not months to resolve? No bad answers here, want to see what situations you’ve run into.

If you're using CLI agents to code, you're not going to want to miss this one. The brand new Amp CLI is live and it's a hand-built TUI, crafted by devs, for devs, to be a joy to use. Some fun behind-the-scenes info ... Uses mode 2027 for proper unicode support, mode 2048 for
