So excited to be at Harvard this week learning from Dr. Karen Mapp and others how we can strengthen our family engagement efforts to support student learning and success.

Lesson from Harvard: instead of having families opt in to receive information about their child’s learning have them opt out to not receive information. Little shift in our work that can have a positive impact. We need to make getting information easier for our families.

Do you know of any 6-12 grade math/science teachers looking to have a rewarding, fulfilling, challenging and fun time teaching in a small rural remote school in Goodnews Bay, AK? We have some cool projects happening here in our school. #AkEdChat

Excited girls at Willow Crest as they get ready to participate in Girls on the Run. Physical active children tend to do better in school. Thank you staff for providing this opportunity to our students.

Girls in science rocks! What happens when one puts raw quail eggs in vinegar for 2 days? The shells gets rubbery. I wanted to pop it...but I didn’t.

Family science night at Airport Heights. Come see science fair projects, short eared owl presentation, learn about bees and explore building LEGO structures and robots. Thank you school staff for giving families this opportunity to learn together.

LEGO robotics at Taku on Saturday of spring break. This young programmer taught me how to create a program for the robot to move. Thank you to 21st Century After-school Program for providing this great opportunity for our future engineers.
