These are some of the amazing optical device projects that my grade 10 students have created this semester for their physics unit. Such talented physicists!💡

This has been such a busy semester but definitely a rewarding one. I am absolutely loving my grade 9 destreamed course and teaching students who are ever so curious about the world of science!

Here are my classes learning to code and test their automatic water pumps. They then set up their sensors and plants with their pump system. In the coming weeks we will be measuring how tall the plants will grow with the water pumps! Stay tuned! :)

Oh and Miss K. had the ABSOLUTE coolest time nerding out and coding a remote control K8 robot with her bestie (also Ms. K) last Wednesday! The excitement is real and I cannot wait for my students to play with these robots! #k8 #edtech #coolkids #STEM #missiononthemoon

@k8roulette2 Sigh. I feel this. Deeply. I’ve had a few advanced degrees for more than minute and whenever anyone asks me if I want to do ___ (insert jobs outside the classroom), I say, “Not right now. I really love teaching.” And I feel like there’s judgment-even if it is unconscious. 😔

A parent told me today that their son is not one to comment about school teachers but mentioned that I am a great teacher & loves my class. I am beyond humbled. This is a reminder to all teachers that what you do each day matters - even if it only reaches one student. 🧿💜

I GOT MY FIRST CONTRACT!!! 🚨🙏🏼🧿

Made it through my first week but I am exhausted. Having 3 preps and ntip in the same year is going to be the end of me 🥺

The teacher's workday is not designed for us to create or even modify curriculum. This is why boxed programs are the easiest way for teachers to stay working within contract hours AND the biggest threat to effective instruction.

Managing 3 new preps has not been easy. Feeling super overwhelmed and burnt out :(

Today was such a wonderful day. ☀️ I had a student tell me that they feel comfortable around me and that’s why they call me “bro” 😂 I think I’ve made it in life ahaha 🙏🏼
