live, let live proponent🗽 unlike you i didn't skim the book. read it end to end. yes it tells you why it works in the West and suggests ways of replicating it. the analogy here is that the many developing countries had to learn the principles that make capitalism work. it doesn't "just work". laissez

The solution is gross no matter how you look at it. You could of course, add quotes to evaluate "NO" as a string, but devs don't like special edge-cases. Most parsers chose to explicitly disregard the spec! Now you have a fractured ecosystem of "real" YAML and "fixed" YAML.
