the idea of malleable software has been on my mind lately, especially in consumer social. one idea I've been riffing on it the ability to adjust your feeds. Example: when Tiktok's FYP isn't hitting, you could give it feedback for that session (e.g., "no internet drama vids")

Beef of the week: Venmo removed the haptic feedback after successfully transferring your Venmo balance to your bank. that shit hit every single time.

a loooong time ago one of my first projects as a junior designer at Bain was redesigning a client’s mobile app. around that time, I saw a post from Stammy about an iPhone stand he loved for designing. I bought one for convenience, not realizing that most of my design career

Instagram launching reposting is veeeeery intriguing from a product standpoint. Usually a remix type feature (a la TikTok) is more interesting for the network, but they went with a raw repost. Maybe a sign that they’re going to rely on friend recommendations more than algo?

Oof iOS 26 is going to poop in your growth pool. They bring the user to a fullscreen view on capture rather than use picture-in-picture

the cursive scribble for the memory icon in Dia is quite thoughtful. it creates a value association. They could have went with symbolizing "memory" itself via a brain or hard drive, but they chose to focus on "personalization" - the outcome of using memory.

this library view on the MacOS music app needs to disappear. I literally never want to see it instead of the apple music version
