THIS. I'm so so sad our local library and a few others are probably closing. I wrote the longest 2 page petition on how much it has meant to me these past few years and that was just scratching the surface. I don't know what I would have done without my weekly library visit.

Can we just have a moment of appreciation for this sentence in a CNN article about extreme rainfall mentioning not only its connection to climate change, but to fossil fuels? So easy to do, and so meaningful in furthering public understanding of climate change.

These are times when leadership (showing what can be done, not telling people what to do) is critical. MPs need to dig deep and step up. As do all individuals in positions of power and visibility (eg sports stars, cultural influencers, community stalwarts).

"Even pro-climate MPs tend to frame low-carbon behaviour as “extreme”, and position themselves in contrast to this extreme, thus perpetuating social and moral norms of high-carbon behaviour." This makes for a depressing read given the urgency of the climate crisis.
