My takeaways from #ASC2023 Assoc4AcademicSurgery for my fellow DO students interested in surgery: 1. Many of our allopathic counterparts are involved in research led by mentors who are at the top of their field. We need to network and get deeply involved to keep pace.

Fantastic opportunity for medical students interested in vascular surgery. I got a lot out of the course in terms of deciding on a career path, applications/interviews, and was able to meet PDs as well as future coapplicants/colleagues.
