Housing is a social determinant of health - mental health. The MH Roadmap addresses the housing & mental health crisis by increasing the continuum of care to include stable housing and community-based peer-to-peer services to prevent isolation, which is the precursor to crisis.

How would you handle this situation?

During my visit to the Lifelinks Clubhouse at Elmhurst Hospital, I was moved by heartbreaking accounts from families who live in fear of losing their mental health clubhouse and life-saving services. I raised these concerns at our Preliminary Budget Hearing to the Administration.

Maternal mental health often goes overlooked despite evidence of postpartum depression and overdose complications for so many new mothers. Today, I introduced Int. 890 to create a 3-year pilot program for postpartum support groups for mothers across New York City!

This weekend we hosted another successful bike helmet giveaway with NYC DOT where we distributed 1,015 helmets - the second-highest total this year! Thank you to everyone who came out and I hope to see safe cycling with bike helmets across the district! 🚴
