My diary 1981. Friday 23rd Oct, the Fall supported by the Virgin Prunes, got in a fight, left. Saturday 24th Oct, went on a CND march and saw the Jam play on the back of a lorry ('Funeral Pyre' and 'Eton Rifles'). Monday 26th - New Order at O2 Ritz Manchester Went home, washed up.

Today (first picture) in comparison to the weekend here in South Shropshire/Herefordshire/Wales. Two and a half fields flooded, the village half stranded from most directions. And that was a relatively ok flood… Suspect the worst will be turning up shortly.🌊xxx

The stress here is a bit unbearable. Frustrations have been taken out (at snail pace) on the green carpet of weeds, the crossword, a paper pile… And the cat just doesn’t care about any of it apart from that his tower has been moved into the cinema that is the double doors!xxx

The ceiling is coming down, most of the landing lights are fused, there are sheep lick buckets everywhere to catch rainwater…but I’ve begun the ball action. When there’s an exceptionally cold draught the balls even move in a magical fashion.🙌xxx

It’s a day for photographing books. Pouring here flooding everywhere, I’ve been told that I can’t get home every thing impassable because of floods. Oh well there are worse places to be than our bookshop. Feel deeply sorry for anyone whose home or business is flooded.
