I have so much respect for people who are still willing to receive new perspective with an open heart—the people who would rather work to understand the nuances of the world around them than to remain complacent in their ignorance.

As a young teacher, I would often spend my preparation time sitting in rooms of "Master teachers"- just watching and listening. It was the best, free training I could get New teachers, find sources of inspiration and grounding. Fortify your mind/spirit with examples of success.

It is "silenced voices," not "voiceless."

People gotta understand that for many, an excellent education rooted in rigor, relevance, and relationships is a matter of life and death whether that be spiritually or physically. That’s not hyperbole. It’s fact. Doing right by our youth isn’t a game.

Instead of spending millions on flashy new curriculum, schools and districts should invest that money in raising teacher salaries and paying teachers to create curriculum that is meaningful and engaging for their students.

Having to leave Twitter is inevitable. This app is and will be a key lever for chaos, noise, and mental warfare. It should be easy to go but how much Black twitter gives me life cannot be measured. Is anyone else wrestling with this? Either way, I know it’s time to go. :(
