Every time you switch tabs, your brain pays a small, invisible tax. It's called context switching, and it's a major reason you feel drained at the end of the day. Been thinking about how to design a workflow that truly protects our focus. #Focus #DeepWork #Productivity

In a fully remote company, I prioritize "remote-readiness" over raw skill during hiring. I'll always choose the proactive, self-disciplined candidate who can thrive autonomously. That trait is non-negotiable for us. #Hiring #CompanyCulture

Onboarding new grads remotely is a massive test of their proactiveness. They can't just 'tap a senior on the shoulder.' It reveals a lot about their potential to succeed in a modern, distributed work environment. #Management #Tech

Stop forcing a one-size-fits-all hybrid policy. True flexibility is about a tailored framework, not a rigid rule. Some roles can be fully remote, while leadership might need regular in-person syncs. Trust your people to know what works. #Leadership

Ditching our physical office was one of the best financial decisions we've ever made. The capital saved from rent goes directly into what matters: our product and our people. For many tech companies today, a big office is a liability, not an asset. #Startups #Business

Over the last decade every other part of the software stack has been replaced by a higher level of abstraction: AWS (2006) -> Vercel Heroku (2007) -> Supabase Twilio (2008) -> Resend Okta (2009) -> Better Auth Datadog (2010) -> Sentry Stripe is the only product founded pre 2010

Thinking about the next steps for my AI workflow. The idea is to combine sub-agents with external memory and self-questioning prompts. Noticing some friction between the "95% confidence" prompt and the sub-agent feature. #claudecode #buildinpublic

It's Obon here in Japan, a time when many people take a break. I didn't take any days off, but most of my clients are on vacation. This means I have zero meetings scheduled today! This is a once-a-year (or less!) kind of day, so I'm heading to a quiet cafe to get a ton of

Mentionflow is a tool under development for organizing my own tasks. So starting today, I plan to develop a feature that uses this data to have an AI suggest "what I should do next" #productivity

Hearing a lot about "Taipa" (Time Performance). But if the time you "save" is just spent watching YouTube, is your Quality of Life really improving? I think when you're young, it's more important to think about how to invest your time, not just how to save it. #Taipa

If your policy requires mandatory office days, you don't have a remote strategy. You just have a slightly longer leash. You're still competing for talent in a 30-mile radius instead of a global one. It's a huge, self-imposed limitation. #Recruiting

It's okay to have a period in your 20s where you just work hard without worrying if something has "bad Taipa." That struggle is what leads to freedom with your time and money in your 40s. Front-loading the effort gives you a much higher life performance overall. #CareerAdvice

Time in your youth is an asset you can never get back. There's a world of difference between coasting in your 20s and getting serious at 40, versus working hard in your 20s and having options at 40. The idea that "I'll get serious later" just doesn't work. #SelfImprovement

On the topic of AI and technical debt. While there are current limitations, I see them as temporary. The long-term challenge seems to be less about code generation and more about code management.

The old-school "just have grit" mentality was definitely excessive. But it's also true that those "unreasonable" efforts are what made me who I am today. Sometimes I think the most personal growth is found in the most "inefficient" of times. #WorkEthic #PersonalGrowth

If you only chase short-term "Time Performance," you risk damaging your overall "Life Performance." Instead of efficiency by the hour, think about how to maximize yourself over an 80-year span. Just changing your perspective will change your actions today. #LifeDesign
