A recurring topic of my week is the prevalence of #depression in people with #aphasia post-stroke. Health professionals need to manage the patient holistically, together bridging barriers to therapy. Great paper by Dr Caroline Baker over on LinkedIn and team! tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.108…

It's #SpeechPathologyWeek. This is a week to promote the work done by SLP's with the 1.2 million Australians who have a communication disability. Feeling grateful to be associated with outstanding peers and fantastic Speech Pathologists who advocate for communication rights 🙌

Here is an interesting article about the relationship between mood disorders following Traumatic Brain Injury. Trying to gain as much knowledge as I can in this area and apply it when I see patients on the ICU ward #tbi #acutehospital Speech Pathology at UTS …andfonline-com.ezproxy.lib.uts.edu.au/doi/pdf/10.310…

Thanks Amy Freeman-Sanderson for a fantastic day at RPA hospital. I got to observe a patient in the ICU who had a tracheostomy tube and also witnessed a VFSS being completed. Such an amazing experience learning from fantastic #SLPs🙌
