Robust challenge & sharing of experiences from our panel helps the police to improve services & ensure greater accountability. By holding them to account, we ensure police officers use their powers more confidently, knowing that they have the backing of the local community.

It was an excellent, well attended use of force community scrutiny meeting. The community comments were thoughtful, focused and evidenced.

Deeply sad to hear my friend, mentor and inspiration Albert Grant has passed away, a giant in the Ipswich community who was the towns first Black Mayor, he worked with various communities and organisations striving to make the town better for everyone

Albert was the person who got me involved with the NW Ipswich BLT he was one of the founding members of ISCRE he has left a legacy with so many individuals and organisations, he was the Councillor for Whitehouse and I ran successfully in his seat when he retired

Today, we pay tribute to former Mayor of Ipswich Dr. Albert Grant OBE who has sadly passed away aged 89. During 26 years as a Whitehouse ward councillor, he became the town's first Black mayor in 1995, and championed racial equality and community causes. bit.ly/4dxTVnE

Yesterday, I met with representatives from every mosque in Ipswich and was pleased to be joined by other community leaders. I wanted to offer my personal reassurance that we will do everything we can to ensure our town remains a welcoming and safe place for the Muslim community.
