The Toronto Region has a new Civil Practice Court requisition form. The form now has a section for the judge to endorse and sign. It is linked at paragraph C.1(6) of the region’s Notice to the Profession, and it can be accessed directly at: ontariocourts.ca/scj/files/form….

eFile Tip : when filing motions in Brampton court, be sure to attach relevant consents and position letters as exhibits to the record. The only documents filed loose are the AOS and draft order! #courts #eFile #JSO #lawyer #legal

Dear Clients: In Toronto court, default judgments submitted by efile are signed and placed in a cabinet on the 8th floor. Don't wait for an email from the court! Your judgment could be sitting in the dreaded "pickup cabinet". #courts #torontolawyer #canlaw

dear clients: be sure to include all relevant position letters/emails when submitting WAGG motions. Sometimes the clerk on efile doesn't notice the error and sends it on to a Master who then bounces it back causing weeks of delay! #canlaw #torontolawyer #courts

Dear Clients: Don't forget to account for the holiday when calculating motion deadlines. Brampton court for example will not accept late material, even with consent of all parties!

So it took an Order from Justice Gibson, but the Kitchener Courthouse has now made 2 rooms available with laptops and phones so that unrepresented litigants can attend their virtual hearings. This should be rolled out to all courthouses. Better late than never Superior Court of Justice (ON)
