On calls since evening about a back door Trojan detected on multiple devices. Only to realise later that Microsoft Defender ATP is detecting yesterday's Chrome update as a backdoor trojan. I can sleep peacefully now.

Somebody posted a congratulatory note for a CISO who switched to a new organisation. The note describes the CISO as “Ace Cybersecurity Leader”. So I am wondering, if the number of awards received can make someone as Ace Leader.

We keep hearing that average CISO tenure in any company is just 18 - 26 months. I think the average has been derived by sampling only those CISO’s that day- in / day- out attend conferences, collect awards & put LinkedIn posts.

As per LinkedIn posts, Some 30+ comrades are humbled and honoured to receive Infosec Maestro award. The security community should boycott such nomination based awards as these are good for nothing.

Why do people write EX CISO@XYZ on their LinkedIn profile instead of putting “Independent Consultant ” as the title ?

Attended a fireside chat session on security automation. One of the panel member started talking about DMARC implementation. How is that an automation ? I have lost the will to live and feeling like leaving the security domain 🤬

The number of paid consultancy mails have surged in the recent past. It appears phishy and seems like a new attack vector to target CXO’s.

In-person / physical conferences are back & generating lot of BS posts on LinkedIn by so called Speakers or Award winners. This narcissist behaviour creates a knock-on affect on infosec fraternity and everyone gets into “FOMO” mode leading to more BS posts on LinkedIn.

Sacrificed other event because “Award” collection is more important.

Award gang has become very inactive on LinkedIn. Waiting for the spam on LinkedIn wall.

Many CISO’s of SME companies are disappointed & displeased for not getting an invite for ET CISO Conclave in Udaipur, India. Well, the companies sponsoring the event has a final say, and they don’t think you can be a good prospect to sell their products / services.
