It was nice to get the chance to prep some pitches for Gaelic Football and Hurling for a change. This was a few weeks ago ahead of the Middle East GAA championship. The biggest GAA tournament in the Middle East, hosted by Abu Dhabi Na Fianna in Zayed Sports City مدينة زايد الرياضية.

Today is a very sad day for the Gowna community. Unfortunately after a tough battle we lost under 13 player Colin Madden. As a mark of respect all club activities are canceled until further notice. Funeral arrangements to follow.

Mark McKeever, what a legend! Here he is way back in October 2000, still an U16, starring for the Gowna seniors in Ulster. A Cavan SFC champion in 1999, 2000, 2002 and....2022! And he was outstanding today too. Not many in the country rival what he has done. Ridiculous stuff!

We hosted Ghana vs Switzerland in a World Cup Pre-Tournament friendly this week at Zayed Sports City مدينة زايد الرياضية. First International match on warm season turf for me here and happy with the performance. Pitch is also being used as a full time training pitch for a local pro league side.

Pitches all setup ahead of a big weekend of football in Zayed Sports City مدينة زايد الرياضية. Over 120 academy teams from around the world competing in the Abu Dhabi Cup hosted by Man City.

The lads knocked it out of the park again. Dialled in for Middle East GAA championship. The pitches have been used on average 30 hours per week over the past month. We also have the make a wish run this weekend, which finishes inside the stadium, so a busy site all round.
