I loved all of the math talk as I walked by an Hwdsb Summer Camps group with Frances Nicolaides today. She even left the games for instructors to continue tomorrow. Working alongside some #focusonyouth students allowed for more targeted math instruction. ❤️

We had so much fun playing some of the math games Kelly McCrory had put together from her “Games with a Purpose” session! Students definitely grew in confidence after a few rounds. Love engaging with kids this way!

Loved walking into Ms Wasitis’ Hwdsb Summer Camps class today. Opportunities to read with students based on targeted #ufli lessons, while Ms Wasitis worked with a small group. ❤️❤️❤️ Apparently we moved to some math with ages too! 😂

Love the opportunity to connect with Hwdsb Summer Camps instructors during class. In Ms. Ung’s group, students created this lake for fishing as part of a camping experience. What if she added in some plastic and garbage tomorrow?

Could a Q-Chart extend to some questions and a writing opportunity? This could then extend to even more authentic reading and writing opportunities, as was true with these kinds of signs. ❤️❤️❤️ Excited to see where this goes next!

I wish that I recorded the reaction when Ms. Ung, an Hwdsb Summer Camps instructor, shared how she bought Halal marshmallows for S’mores. Kids broke out in cheers. This one instructor decision brought such joy, & allowed for inclusion for all! ❤️

Final day of Hwdsb Summer Camps Queen Mary and we ended with a Water Day! Thanks for Mr. G’s group for planning and creating these fun games to practice literacy and numeracy!

Ms. Ung’s Hwdsb Summer Camps group made S’mores in their solar ovens today. Will they work? Love how she created reflection questions to dig deeper and think more. Also made sure everyone could eat the S’mores with Halal marshmallows and nut-free ingredients. ❤️
