Year 3 have enjoyed taking part in role play in RE where they acted out Jesus performing healing miracles on a blind man. Apologies for the shaky camera work. We have a photographer in training! #HurworthYear3

Year 3 looked amazing in their costumes for World Book Day. We even had a home made beanstalk this year! In the afternoon, they enjoyed a storytelling and acting workshop provided by Divergent Drama. What wonderful actors they all are! #HurworthYear3 #HurworthPrimary

Year 3 have finished their landscape paintings and we definitely have some aspiring artists! The children thought very carefully about the colours and textures of their art work as well as thinking carefully about showing perspective. Fantastic work Year 3! #HurworthYear3

Year 3 have had a busy afternoon! They finished off their work around this week's linked text by acting out the playscript of 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. They then used the skills that they have learnt in Cricket over the past few weeks and used them in a game format!

Year 3 had a visit from Captain Chemistry yesterday morning to introduce our new science topic 'Forces and Magnets'. The children were amazed when investigating how magnets attract and repel each other and even had a go at using making their own compass and boat! #HurworthYear3

Year 3 have started learning about Ancient Egypt. We have been impressed with some children who have done independent research already. One child even made a shaduf (a hand operated device used to lift water from the Nile to irrigate the land) over the weekend! We are blown away!

This morning, all of our KS2 children took part in an online Kindness Workshop ran by the charity 52 Lives and their School of Kindness! We learnt about the three qualities of kindness and finished the session by making something for someone we feel deserves some kindness!
