Revising paper using quant diary study, with data collected for several days. Can anybody recommend a paper that reports on or visualises (elegantly) the relationship between IV and DV the same day, the next day (i.e. lagged effect), the day after that, etc etc #psych #rstats 🤔

"but the correlation is so large, it must be a robust effect" 🤔 for small samples, large values for the computed correlation coefficient are more likely to appear, even in the absence of any relationship. see here for 2 independently generated variables & different sample sizes:

This is fantastic news! Well done! 🤩 I have a tutorial video in Norwegian that needs updating then. 😁 vimeo.com/472030108 #zotero

Several days’ measures: Testing whether predictor is related to outc. the next day, and I control for the pred. on the same day as the outc: outc_lagged ~ pred + pred_lagged But then I’m asked to include pred:pred_lagged interaction term. Why? What would this show? #rstats 🤔

This is horrifying 😳 I wonder how many papers in psych have errors due to data cleaning by hand in excel...copy/paste mistakes, accidental deletions, etc

What’s the recommended package/resource for doing #EFA in R? I’ve used #lavaan for CFA and SEM stuff, but for the first time with #rstats I need to do something exploratory. Something easy, tidy-friendly and versatile, with parallell analysis, scree plots and whatnot? 🤔

So I wish I had some academic achievement to brag about, but that article is still under review. Anyway, this happened today. #closetherings #1000days #applewatch #phdlife

First published article I’ve written with the #papaja package, and it’s an amazingly flexible way to write an article. 10/10 would do it again! Also, shout-out to #psych, #MBESS, #lme4 and #interactions packages, and of course the #tidyverse. What tools! 🤩 #rstats Frederik Aust

I have my #mastodon account set up - @[email protected] - and it looks promising so far! Did a first-pass skim through the bios of people I follow here and followed any mastodon accounts I found. I’ll try again in a week or two. Aiming for a gradual transition off twitter.

I am now growing confident this move will be permanent. Remarkable to see large portions of the #rstats and #psych #research community move so quickly to #mastodon. I find new people I follow here at mastodon every day. A change for the better, I’m sure. ❤️

Highly recommended! I had already moved «manually», but tried this now and found additional people I follow. I recommend everyone I know on twitter to make this move now, while it’s still possible. Thank you for your work, Patricia Aas!
