Today is my birthday. 🎉🙏🏾 Every year on my birthday, I take a step back and reflect on what I’ve learned, what I’ve lost, and what I’ve gained. Here are the 8 most important lessons I learned this past year:

1️⃣ You need three types of friends: One who helps you laugh. One who helps you dream. One who helps you build.

2️⃣ You’re going to be scared of that job, that dream, that relationship...do it anyway.

3️⃣ The pain you’ve gone through wasn’t for you. It was to teach you how to show up for someone else.

4️⃣ That healed relationship you’ve been praying for? It’s waiting on the other side of that  uncomfortable conversation.

5️⃣ It wasn’t a “blessing in disguise.” The blessing was always there. You just couldn’t see it yet.

6️⃣ You’ll have to forgive people who never say “I’m sorry.” Do it anyway, it’s for your peace, not theirs.

7️⃣ You’re stronger than you think. You haven’t been forced to prove it yet. But if life demands it, you’ll not only survive you’ll thrive.

8️⃣ And lastly…tell them you love them. One day, you won’t get the chance.
