Dr. Glowacki is a new faculty member in the Biology Department this fall. His research primarily focuses on the human gut microbiome, using a common gut bacterium as a model organism.

Students are working with budding yeast in the Advanced Cell Biology lab and practicing Petri dish art while learning to work with yeast cells for their semester-long course research projects

Students in Dr. Blake-Mahmud's ecology course collect data on trees in Hope College's precious Nature Preserve. Data are contributed to the National EREN network, which recognizes the importance of ecological research in education.
