Gr 4’s had an awesome day learning about agriculture: dairy, crops, sustainability, machinery, biology of different animals (Did you know that cows have 4 stomachs?), alpacas, and more! Thank you to the Grenville Agriculture Awareness Committee for inviting us!

Today is #EarthDay2023! We are called to act wisely by promoting actions that ensure the protection of God’s creation! Students were actively engaged this week in activities to inspire them to protect the Earth for future generations!

We celebrated #CEW2023 this week by creating an art piece that captures the theme: “We Are Many, We Are One”. We are all important puzzle pieces in our HC family. Thank you to Director Corrigan, Superintendent O’Brien and Superintendent Hutchinson for the visit!

As part of our Mental Health Week activities last week, our students created three “Positive Posts” boards to celebrate acts of kindness! Students also were able to share messages of kindness towards others! #mentalhealthweek

Spring means the arrival of caterpillars! 🐛 Kinders are learning about the progression from caterpillar, to cocoon, to beautiful butterfly! 🦋

It’s a pretty great day when you get to dig in the dirt! Grade 3’s collected their own soil samples yesterday to examine the variety of colours, textures and organic content found in our life-giving soil!

On May 17th, we celebrated Indigenous Day. A few highlights were: learning about Grizzly bears (one of the many honoured animals in Indigenous cultures), writing in Inuktitut, the 7 Grandfather Teachings and a read-aloud of “Be A Good Ancestor” by Leona and Gabrielle Prince.

We had a perfect day on Friday for Grade 3-6 Track & Field! Big thank you to St Michael CHS Kemptville for providing your beautiful field and for all the help!

The St Michael CHS Kemptville Jazz Band and Choir performed today for our K-2 students! Some of us even got to sit with the band! Thank you to Ms. Kowlessar and music students! You are so talented!

Some of our Grade 2 and 3 classes visited Upper Canada Village on Thursday! It was a perfect day, filled with many happy faces and lots of learning!

Mrs. Willsey’s and Ms. Byvelds’ classes worked on structure building yesterday with their Grade 6 “science buddies”!

Yesterday was magical. Smiles, fun and excitement were the themes of the day! ♥️☀️

Grade 3’s are excited that summer is almost here! ☀️☺️
