Over 100 of our prisoners and 15 staff members took part in a Race for Life event here at HMP Send, raising £1,890 for Cancer Research UK. Alongside fundraising, prisoners built valuable life skills by taking part such as team working, accountability & resilience to help aid rehabilitation.

Guildford Library hosts 'Chapbooks' created by women here at HMP Send, as part of a creative writing project with Hatchlands Park. This project helped the women strengthen literacy skills and improve wellbeing. 📚 Read the impact the workshop had ⬇️

HMP Send celebrated #BlackHistoryMonth by welcoming rapper GUVNA B who shared his story and performed for the prisoners. This event which included an open discussion gave prisoners the chance to understand Black history.

For Remembrance Sunday, the women & staff worked together to create a display of poppies made from plastic bottles & paint. The women also crocheted poppies to raise funds for Royal British Legion in Belmont, helping to give back to the community and gain valuable skills. #LestWeForget

Vital Beats London Collective is an all-woman group who provide interactive music interventions to support women affected by trauma. They held an event for our women to encourage post traumatic growth through open conversation & promote wellbeing which helps to aid rehabilitation

Fantastic to welcome Cherie Blair to HMP Send last week. We discussed how we work with the prison to support mothers to stay in touch with their children. Maintaining family contact helps to keep women in prison safe and significantly reduces the likelihood they’ll reoffend.
