Year 4 have been exploring the beautiful text ‘The Planet in a Pickle Jar’ and have designed their own jars. We filled them with what we think future generations need to remember and learn about.

Y6 continued their quest to be ‘Internet Legends’ with a live assembly this morning. Parent Zone and Google UK delivered live activities, supporting our learning on internet safety - being Internet sharp, alert, secure, kind and brave. Well done, everyone #BeInternetLegends

We recently attended football tournaments with our year 5 & 6 children. Both teams played fantastically with amazing team spirit! Well done everyone.

Well done to all our children who ran in the cross country championships on Wednesday. Our Year 4 boys were overall winners, bringing back the trophy, along with our year 6 runner coming first place. Fantastic achievements, we are super proud of everyone who took part.

Year 4 have been creating rainforest dioramas and exploring the different layers of the rainforest.

Year 6 made clinometers and used knowledge of the properties of right angled, isosceles triangles, to measure the approximate height of trees around our field. #OutdoorClassroomDay

In science, Year 6 were investigating how light travels, how we see and how light is reflected, by making periscopes. Some spying missions around the school grounds too for #OutdoorClassroomDay

Year 5 took a mindful walk around our outdoor areas today, focusing on sounds. We then created some transient art, using onomatopoeia, around the sounds we are most grateful for 🍃 #OutdoorClassroomDay

Year 4 had an engaging morning at Tullie House as an introduction to learning about WW2. We investigated artefacts, we empathised with children who were evacuated and made comparisons between our lives today and what it was like to be alive during WW2.

The sun shone on High Hesket CE School School on Friday for the Happy Hesket Stalls Brightstars event. Elspeth & Michelle went along from the Society to help the children run their event.
