In America, despite corporate agriculture's dominance, rate of suicide in the rural areas is 3.5 times the national average. If markets were so good, there is no reason why US Govt should provide a domestic support of Rs 79-lakh per farmer per year.

Farming can be made debt-free. Karnataka farmers show the way. Ensure banks to get out of colonial mindset and start receiving crop produce as loan repayment. Instead of seizing movable and immovable property banks should tie up with Mother Dairy etc for marketing the produce.
