On Saturday, I was back National Trust for Scotland Hill of Tarvit & Kingarrock Hickory course for a work event. Enjoyed a wonderful tour of the house and learned more about the Sharp family. It was visiting properties like this, that inspired my love of heritage as a child. #ForTheLoveofScotland

I've created a trail for junior #GolfGeeks, which takes families around the town, spotting iconic places linked to #GolfHistory Using maths based questions to uncover the story. I was always scared of #Maths, but it's been great to be part of this week again. #MathsTails

This is Walter "Watty" Alexander - he and Alexander Herd took over from Auld Daw Anderson in 1855 and were paid £6 "betwixt them" to look after the Links in St Andrews. He is seen here with young boys who are noted as being caddies. #NSHD2024 #StAndrews #SportingHeritage

When Tom Morris returned to St Andrews in 1864 as Keeper of the Green, on of his responsibilities was managing the town's caddies - often a job easier said than done. These rules are of the same year. #NSHD2024

This book was created in 1990, by an Old Course caddie. He recorded precise details of the holes to help his clients. The St Andrews caddies will be featured in a new project; which include portraits and oral history recordings. More details to come! #NSHD2024

This little red tee, holds a much larger story of achievement in #golf. Champion Bobby Jones used it during The 1930 Amateur at #StAndrews. This was the beginning of his legendary Grand Slam, winning all four majors in one year. #TinyTreasures #ScottishMuseumsDay
